Both Marcia and I have always been fans of Body Spray. It started back in the early days of Bath & Body Works...walking into the store, picking out a bunch of different scents, then wearing them until you can't stand that particular fragrance anymore
When we started Simply Stated Bath & Body, any kind of perfume wasn't on our radar. We talked about Body Spray but we didn't want it to be full of alcohol and "short-lived" like we personally experience from other big box stores. So the idea went to the back burner.
Roll-On Perfume quickly made it's popularity in our handmade industry around 2017-2018. We were at a conference and one of the workshops was specifically geared towards Roll-On Perfume and its benefits. At that time, we rolled out 1 fragrance and it was aimed solely for little girls...Fairy Dust. We even added shimmering mica to it and it was a hit.
So much a hit that we slowly started adding more scents. Still thinking of little girls. It wasn't until a couple of VIP customers asked us when we would have more scents available that were aimed towards grown-ups/women. We finally added in scents you recognize...Tuscan Lace and Sweet Pea to name a few.
At a conference/training in early 2019 we sat in a seminar that got all science-y about an ingredient called Zinc Ricinoleate. It's a natural ingredient derived from ricinoleic acid, which is a major fatty acid in castor seed oil. And was an up-and-coming popular ingredient in deodorants.
Thanks to that particular seminar and all the training, our odor neutralizing Body Spray formula was born, tested, and rolled out later in 2019.
So, here we are several years later in 2023 and both products get shipped out quickly to customers and our boutique retailers across the country. But we're dying to know, do you prefer to Spray it Away with Body Spray or Roll It On with Roll-On Perfume?
What are the top reasons our customers prefer a roll-on perfume bottle over a body spray?
Precision application: Roll-on perfumes allow for more targeted application, making it easier for women to apply fragrance exactly where they want it.
Less mess: Roll-on bottles don't produce a mist or spray, reducing the likelihood of accidentally applying too much fragrance or getting it on clothing or other surfaces.
Convenient size: Roll-on bottles are typically smaller and more portable than body sprays, making them easy to take with you on-the-go.
More discreet: Roll-on perfumes are quieter to apply and emit less fragrance than sprays, making them more discreet for use in public places.
Quick and easy to use: Body sprays are easy to apply and can be used quickly, making them a convenient option for women on-the-go.
Long-lasting fragrance: Some body sprays contain a higher concentration of fragrance oils, which can result in a stronger, longer-lasting scent. Our Body Sprays are not heavily scented so we don't irritate sensitive skin. However, the glycerin in our formula helps to lock in your skin's natural moisture, as well as keeping the scent locked into your skin (without drying you out like harmful chemicals in other perfumes may do).
Light and refreshing: Our Body sprays are formulated to be light and refreshing, as well as odor-neutralizing, making them perfect for use during hot weather or for people who prefer a light scent.
Perfect for layering: Body sprays can be used to layer scents and create a unique, personalized fragrance.
Good for outdoor activities or at the gym: Body sprays are great for activities as they provide a refreshing feeling and also mask body odors that can be caused by sweating. That's really where our odor-neutralizing formula comes in handy!
Both products we offer are available in a wide range of fragrances for women throughout our store. You'll find both in our 7 core line fragrances as well as seasonal releases. But did you know you can ask for a customization? Shoot us an email at email@example.com, and we'd love to see if we have your favorite fragrance oil on hand.
How exactly does Perfume fit into the self-care world?
Perfume, whether it comes in the form of a body spray or roll-on perfume, can be considered as a form of self-pampering because it allows us to treat ourselves to something luxurious and indulgent.
Wearing a pleasant fragrance can help to boost self-confidence and make you feel good about yourself.
Perfumes and body sprays are often associated with grooming, beauty, and taking care of oneself. Using a fragrance can be a small but meaningful way to make oneself feel special, and it can be part of a routine of self-care.
The aromas of perfumes and body sprays can also be used to help people relax and unwind, which is a key aspect of self-pampering. Haven't you ever just felt a wave of relief after applying your favorite perfume? Almost like you can go and tackle the day now!
Let's not forget, perfumes and body sprays can be a way to express one's personality and sense of style. People often choose fragrances that reflect their own unique tastes, and this can be a form of self-expression.
Tell us in the comments which is your favorite: Roll-On Perfume or Body Spray? And what fragrance of ours have you loved so far for these products? We'd love to hear from you!
