It’s wild to think that Simply Stated Bath & Body is officially turning 10.
That’s an entire decade of bath bombs, market weekends, self-care routines, customer love, and plenty of “can we actually do this?” moments.
And yet… here we are. Still fizzing. Still creating. Still here — because of you.
Let’s take it back to where it all began.
From Kitchen Sink to Cult Favorites
Simply Stated started in my mom’s kitchen - Marcia (the other half of Simply Stated) - in late 2014.
At the time, my husband and I were just starting to think about growing our family, and we were diving deep into clean eating. Watching the ingredients in our food quickly started blending into the products we used in our home and on our bodies.
Naturally, that led to Pinterest recipes, essential oils, and a lot of early experiments that make us cringe (and laugh) looking back.
We knew nothing about proper formulation. But that didn’t stop us.
Co-workers started asking us to make products for them, and they wanted scents beyond essential oils. That’s when our new craft obsession truly began.
We started researching fragrance oils, reading everything we could about safety, ingredients, formulation. By mid-2015, we officially formed Simply Stated Creations, selling only to friends and coworkers for the first two years.
And then... demand started growing.
From Hobby to Business — and That Big 2020 Leap
2018 was our tipping point. We got serious.
We attended conferences, trainings, and seminars to ensure we were manufacturing safe, high-quality products. We couldn’t get enough. (And spoiler: Marcia is still the mastermind formulator behind every product you love today.)
For a while, our world was entirely craft shows and vendor markets — gone every weekend, hauling bins and tables, mixing, labeling, and restocking nonstop.
Then 2020 hit.
Like so many small businesses, we had to pivot and fast.
And we did. We took Simply Stated online almost overnight.
And not only did we survive — we thrived. So much so that we had to ask ourselves a very real question:
“Do we go all in and take a chance on ourselves… or keep this as a hobby?”
You know how this story goes:
We jumped.
We rebranded.
We built a new website.
We added wholesale.
We expanded our product line.
We shipped orders with a toddler underfoot and a newborn on my hip.
We kept going.
My husband and dad were all in helping where they could. Building booth displays, hauling gear, helping mix product, and labeling in the evenings. Shoutout to my husband, Kylee, who’s still very much part of this business!
Growth, Grit… and the Glow Up
After 2020, things moved fast.
2021 through 2023 brought exciting growth — but also burnout, big lessons, and a lot of late-night decisions.
2024 brought a slowdown. Growth flat-lined. We had some scary months.
But instead of giving up, we went back to our roots.
We re-centered on the products that built this brand.
We got scrappy. We simplified. We got strong.
And now, in 2025 — ten years later — we’re celebrating this milestone with a full-on Glow Up.
